is another passion of mine. Calligraphy involves almost all of the senses: Touch in feeling of the grip of the pen (wood pens are my favorite), Sight in visualizing the upstrokes and downstrokes, Smell from the different kinds of ink, and Hearing in the scratchiness of the nib gliding across the paper. Practicing calligraphy is also very grounding for me, there is something about the historical background of traditional calligraphy that brings a weighty sense of the present.
